I think the 1% low results are the only ones that matter. You won't notice the highs but you will suffer the lows.

2600x hands down. Better platform, more threads, unlocked, better in productivity tasks, better cooler.

I'm waiting on ryzen 3000 series instead

the threads on the 2600x makes a great choice against the 9400f. both are good cpus but the extra threads are worth the slight performance loss in some games against the 9400f. the 3000 series should kill the 9400f off unless they drop the price but pricing also depends on region, some places the ryzen part is cheaper, others the intel cpu is actually cheaper

You know Zen 2 is coming soon when HUB recommends waiting for it.

the 2600X costs $250, is 37% more expensive than 9400F in my country lol. So i'll go with 9400F

Anyone who has been paying attention to the way CPUs age this decade knows the 2600/X is a better deal. The extra threads are definitely worthwhile and will pay off later if you intend to keep it for a good few years and run it into the ground. Look at the i5 2500k vs i7 2600k in today's games if you want to see what I mean.

Still, I'm holding out for Zen 2. I'm itching to ditch my i5 4690. Been on 4c/4t for what feels like ages.

I'd go AMD all day everyday except I wouldn't.

I'd wait for the 3000 series. Any increases in IPC and or clockspeeds will be big trouble for Intel.

So many years, and amd is back on top again. It's good to see.

Would still take 2600x any time are you kidding. xD
6/12 vs 6/6 and Intel is only 5-10% faster in gaming @1080p ultra and we are talking about huge fps's so you can not feel any difference between 145 and 137 fps.(assuming you got a medium -high end gpu).
And it kills the 9400F in everything else, every other category.

So 6/12 against 6/6 AND you got an overall better cpu.., its really a no-brainer.
👍

Ps: Guy who commented on Intel's absolutely insane performance over Amd is just a blind fanboy, dont sweat it xD 😁

Thank you for this quality review. Very nice to see the raw numbers from a balanced choice of game titles and settings.

Lose 1 or 2 frames in games & win everything else :) plus you get a decent free stock cooler, AMD R5 2600X hands down no brainer... I'm using it for my gaming build it's a beast by all means.

Whenever I see 9400F, I always read it as 94 OOF. The internet has ruined my reading comprehension.

Interesting comparison. Btw, I like the new intro. It's more chill. Keep up the good work.
