Enthusiastic Steve: Build it... Use it. Awesome HF Multi Band Antenna, Design Build Test.

Hello, welcome and thank you for coming to watch another Enthusiastic Steve Video.
In this video I will show and tell you everything you need to allow you to make a Multi Band Antenna that works across the 40m to 10m bands, including the 11m band and can be used with less performance on the 80m and 6m bands.
I will explain the design and the purpose of an Un Un. I then spent 2 days, trying out various lengths of wire, the antenna, to see which gave the best performance across all bands, you can see the results in the table and graph i produced and you can choose the best and most convenient length for you.
Once i have shown the design i will build it, give you tips on using a choke and put it on air to demonstrate what this simple and cost effective antenna can do. I think you will be impressed.

I done this about 12 month ago and it works very very well I use just over a 7m lengthy with 9-1 but I did add a counterpoise and worked very very well nice vid and just shows you don’t need to spend hundreds on these fancy antenna’s

Very good presentation Steve. The only thing I would add is that once you go above a 3/4 wave the gain at lower angles for dx shrinks and the highest gain happens at higher angles. So a 29 ft wire will probably show that on 10m (you can still work dx though!). Good job 73

I'm using a Sigma LW-20 Longwire kit that also uses a 9:1 unun and seems to work well with my Mat 30 tuner I don't run a choke but do have a 10m long counterpoise instead and have had 3 non European contacts now Brazil, Madeira Island and Usa.

If the wire won't go through the hole then just wrap it around the post.
