They pay $10, 000 in 12 years per house to insure homes. Over 840, 000 customers
The insurance company is worth $39.8 Billion.
Now on the day before needed it drops you and says it won't take responsibility to what was promised.
*That is than called a scam!*
An there should be company laws against that. (Number relates not to AAA)

You all need to buy flood insurance as we only have 12 years left the democrats say before the world will be under water.

Liberty Mutual non-renewed us three years ago. Our new insurance costs way too much. The commissioner should also address that issue.

I bet this turns out like the investigation into high gas prices 🤣.

I live in a concrete and asphalt city, not a rural city, my insurance was dropped by an insurance company I’ve been paying in to for exactly 10 years ‘due to high fire danger’. There are no fields of brush or forests within miles of my house. The fire department is less than 1/4 mile away from me. So thousands in premiums and I had to go shopping for different insurance for the first time in 10 years. I was able to find a different insurance company but my premiums went up.

Anyone who thinks insurance companies should insure these folks, should start their own and offer it to these high risk people. Put your money where your mouth is.

Homeowner: It is a great idea to buy this house in a high-fire zone. The views are amazing!

Insurance company: We aren't going to renew your fire policy due to high-fire risk.

Homeowner: *Surprise pikachu*

The homeowner has trees all around her home, and no real defensible space. I can see why an insurer would choose to cancel her. My question is was she cancelled as of that day or was she given 30-45 days notice she was being cancelled.

OK...you guys look like you're trying to advocate for people. Let's see if you keep up with this shit. I challenge you to UPDATE US ON THE INSURANCE COMMISSIONER'S work to clamp down on the insurance companies to honor the policies they put out. As a matter of fact, I want you to PUSH the insurance commissioner to create business guidelines for the insurers who issue these policies so that there is no chance paid subscribers will ever lose their coverage. In other words, make these assholes write guidelines that insures coverage with no chance of cancellation for as long as they want to do business in California. For example, give the folks they want to cancel on ONE YEAR to find another provider before they cancel. Crazy rule? It sounds good to me because it means that insurers will protect homes without sudden cancellation. I'd like to say keep up the fucking good work, but KPIX, you are just scratching the surface on this shit. DO MORE. OPPOSE REAL ESTATE DEVELOPERS THAT ARE CAUSING THE HOMELESS CRISIS AND ADVOCATE FOR YOUR VIEWERS.

What do you expect when you live in a high risk fire zone? You want to live in a high risk fire area? Sure, but no one should be forced to bail you out when it goes up in flames.

The California FAIR Plan is a convoluted way of forcing insurers to provide insurance to those that no insurer would do so voluntarily.
