What makes this more poetic is the fact that the Punisher made his debut in a Spiderman comic (TASM #129) as a villain originally but become an anti hero when he realized Spiderman wasn’t the villain the Jackal made him out to be so it makes perfect sense for Frank to save Spiderman as an atonement for nearly killing Peter

Some extra context: Punisher hadn't appeared in an in-continuity story for like 5-6 years at this point, so this was his big return

Punisher: “OH! I KNOW YOUR NOT HURTING SPIDER-MAN!”
Villians: “n-no sir”

Say what you will about Punisher’s morals, but even he knows a true hero when he sees one.

Dude saved a innocent kid from being tortured to the death and the first thing they do when seeing him is calling him an insane killer.

This is why the first Iron Man movie was such a gamble to make, because this comic literally destroyed Marvel fan's views of Tony, this comic made Tony the most hated character ever in comic books.

At least Punisher always solves the problem. PERMANENTLY

I always thought this panel of Frank holding Peter unable to stand by himself goes hard and is tragic as fuck, I read this as a kid and it was truly striking

Civil War made me despise Tony, but nah this particular incident during it was Maria Hill's fault. Tony wanted to talk to Peter in this instance, but SHE denied the request and then sent the Thunderbolts onto Spidey after telling Tony to stay put.

The funny thing about this is that this shows how much of a good person peter really is because I know Peter has the strength to kill a lot of marvel heroes and villains but he doesn't cause he knows they're still human

What?, you mean the psycho villains That Tony put on his team are acting like villains. But Tony is one of the "smartest" people in the world

As much as I may not agree with Punisher's methods, he's still a hero. He saves Spider-Man from the worst type of people, and I will always respect this man for it.

What I find fascinating about Frank’s character is that he admires people like Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Captain America, and would rather people be more like them than himself. Frank doesn’t want anymore of “him, ” he views himself as a necessary evil, one that cleans up the mess others can’t. He understands the importance of heroes that are symbols of hope and compassion, but is strong in his own beliefs and convictions as well and never doubts them for a second. He’s immune to Ghost Rider’s Penance Stare because he generally feels no remorse for his actions and wholeheartedly believes that he’s doing the right thing at the right thing at the end of the day.

I always love when the Punisher gets to have his moments.

Frank messed up once when he thought that Spider-Man was a villain. He doesn't want to make that mistake again.

I'd like to point out Tony had to send an _army_ of super villains after just Spider-Man, and he had them ready just in case Peter went off the reservation.

Love how the 'Smartest' people on the registration side didn't realize murderous supervillains wouldn't attempt to kill their targets
