I like how all the other masterchef judges are like acting serious and keeping it clean while Austrlian judges just dont care

actually the way he cut the cake (cutting of a segment and then going down horizontally) is how a lot of cake bakers cut for sampling / tastings - it's a great way to get a sizeable portion of all the layers without being too much. although i do agree the meringue on the fingers was a bit much LOL

Regardless, that was EXTREMELY impressive for 4 and a half hours. I couldn't have replicated that.

MA hands down the best one if the lot! I think because it was the first, but also the sheer scale of ingredients available to them. It's a marvelous showcase for Australian cuisine and country.

My French Canadian grandmother use to make a painstaking long Thin multi layered cake (8-9) Inbetween the cake was icing..Raspberry jam with pieces of raspberry followed by chocolate mousse Then carmel And Creme burlee The very bottom was my fav : Granola Graham cracker mix With strawberry puree Her trick to all this was place it in the freeze after making the cakes shortening fat on the pans And wax paper. Cut them thin Add your fillings And back into the freezer

This guys cake must taste wonderful But the size of the cake layers is huge One of his was 3 of Grandmas
The idea of a great cake is to have the taste of the icing not over power the taste/texture of the cake And vice virsa

I can't believe the Master Chef and creator of the cake, does not have an extra knife, fork, spoon, whatever, to push the extra merengue from the cutting knife and is pushing it onto the plates with his finger...
