This is what happened to the cast of The Tracy Ulman Show. I used to wonder what happened to them until I saw an interview and found that their little Simpson sketch that went with the show turned into a big hit that out lived their show.

Dan almost didn’t get hired on The Tracy Ullman Show. Imagine how much different the characters would sound if he hadn’t been on that show.

When he was on Tracy Ullman’s show, they needed voice actors for an animated short series of a dysfunctional family, so the producers decided to ask Dan Castellaneta and fellow cast member Julie Kavner to voice Homer and Marge Simpson respectively, rather than hire voice actors.
