Here’s to you meeting your 2022 goals and finding peace in all areas. I feel your concerns, being one of five children myself, and also the mom of an only child. My daughter is now in high school, and one of the best things I’ve done for her is to go out of my way to help foster the friendships she makes. That means different things at different stages, but it has looked like driving her from place to place, hosting lots of play dates, reaching out to other moms even when I didn’t feel like it, and making my home one that her friends are always welcome at for hanging out, sleepovers, etc. As an introvert, it’s been a stretch for me, but she has amazing friendships now which I think helps fill the void of not having siblings.

You’re just my favorite, April. I’ve followed you forever and am catching up on a backlog of your videos. I hope so much you can grant yourself gentleness and kindness in 2022. Your videos are such a light to me and I pray you find that peace. You deserve it!! ✨

AMEN to the friendship comment!! One of the best things that made our children successful in life is helping them learn how to choose good friends and like this mom said, provide those opportunities !!
Also if I remember correctly Nora has cousins?? Cousins can be invaluable relationships to your child. Your passion to be a good mother will motivate you, but remember it's a journey and there will be hard days of struggle. Your example will teach Nora to be a "strong, independent woman" the most.

I started doing foster parenting and respite care a year ago, and I am really looking forward to reading "The book you wish your parents had read." I strive everyday to be a better parent and to learn from past mistakes.💕😊

So many good books. I am waiting for my copy of Midnight in Everwood to arrive and I can’t wait to pick it up. I really wanna read more non fiction in 2022 and you have some interesting titles😀

Sweet April, what a huge good group of books that you’ve got ahead of you! And I keep forgetting to mention how much I like your hair! It’s a bit scary when you make a change, particularly something so, I guess, obvious as hair but SUPER CUTE, my friend! I finally have LOTS of hair (well, for me, i should say! Not bald anymore!). So I’m just grateful I have something to brush! Haha! Much love to you and your family! And btw, my two besties (one in California, one in BC) both are raising only children (girls I might add) and they are all amazing girls and wonderful families! Xoxo 💕📖📚

Hope you enjoy Horrorstor more than I did. 😁 Such a great concept that was a letdown unfortunately. Good luck with all of your 2022 reading goals, April! 😊

Yes, it was me who sent you Atlas of the Heart! I hope you love it! Also, Horrorstor is a quirky read....which is exactly what I loved about it. And walking thru IKEA afterward was kinda trippy. The book is about a retail store haunted by ghost zombies - so you are right either way! I hope it's a fun experience for you!

Hi April
I grew up as an only child and I can tell you that when I was small I was SO GLAD I didn't have siblings. My best friend from kindergarten until graduation had twin brothers who were about 2 years younger than us, so I got the sibling experience and also got to leave the sibling experience!

As an adult I sometimes wish I had siblings, but I have a great sister in law and a couple of great friends that fill the gap for me. ❤

I'm an only child and I sometimes wished for a sibling when I was younger, but as an adult, my mother is one of my best friends and I'm not sure that would be the case if I had a sibling in the mix. One & Only sounds like a lovely read!

Burnout was really good! I also have Atlas of the Heart on my list for this year and was so impressed by how gorgeous it is. 😍

Brené Brown was a recent guest on Elizabeth Day’s ‘how to fail’ podcast. You might enjoy the episode seeing that their books are on your list :)

A couple of the non fiction books I have put on hold at library . Looking forward to meeting some small goals in my life too. I am excited to see " Mirror Man"- Lars Kepler and " Paris Apartment' - Lucy Foley are coming out in 2022.

Loved The Return.... it reminded me of books by Grady Hendrix. I love the combination of dark humor and horror.
