I honestly don’t understand why anyone would swim in LA water. It’s FREEZING. Summer, Winter, it doesn’t matter, not swimming temperature. Especially not in just a swim suit. But, they really do have actual lifeguards on duty in California and I’m honestly surprised that all they wear are swim suits. That ocean water is below freezing.

Also, this show is based off of Mitch being a career lifeguard. And it’s honestly not possible for someone to support themselves AND child AND own a home squarely on a lifeguard salary. Just not possible.

Also, with the Bobby and Chuck scene: Mitch should have taken his can rope off once giving Chuck the can. Chuck would have been able to hold on and wait for another lifeguard to get him, rather than Mitch trying to drag him along to get Bobby. That was his BIGGEST mistake in that rescue. Chuck would have been fine floating for a minute and Bobby would have been rescued sooner. Instead, Mitch wastes time going back for Chuck after Chuck looses his grip and Bobby ends up nearly drowning. That episode was centered around Mitch suffering post rescue PTSD and beating himself up over what he did wrong. And I honestly don’t blame him. He DID do something wrong and it nearly cost Bobby his life.
