Chrysler Marine 360 CID Rear Main Seal Repair Tips and Tech

This video is a recent remanufactured engine that has a rear main seal leak. The builder opted to use rope. The crankshaft has no knurl so a rubber seal can be utilized since the seal itself doesn't have any serrations. 273, 318, and 340 engine you have to use the correct crankshaft knurl or no knurl at all and a rope seal. This engine the rope seal was setup too tight and it burned it. Once it's glazed over like this it will fail prematurely.
