So important! Lock snapping by burglars is easily done! Just replaced two of mine and it is really as easy as this! Just make sure you do a bit of reading on measuring locks! I believe the max recommendation for the lock cylinder to protrude is 5mm. You also want a lock with a 3 star Kitemark for maximum protection! Anti-bump, anti-snap, anti-pick etc

Wrong size cylinder for that door. Now you made it very easy to be snapped. Try a 3 star euro profile cylinder next time, like: Yale Platinum, Avocet ABS... You have a responsibility to upload safe and secure content on YouTube, being a star that you are 😉, more people will fallow you're advice making there homes less secure. Big fan 😁

Nice! I need to replace all my interior door knobs. It's an almost 60 year old house. It was a rental for about 20 years to just one family and the previous owner did all the repairs with cheapest, rental grade parts. And now I have 8 different interior doors with 8 different types of door knobs, some brass, some brushed nickel. All different in style. Time to make it consistent. Thanks for posting. Your work is appreciated!

Love it. And if it doesn't work and you can't get out, well at least you'll be able to follow the government advice about staying home.! Nice one!

It's amazing how many capable people pay hundreds to a locksmith or joiner to do such a simple job.

Oh my good god. I thought you had to take the trim off the entire side. Thanks for this chick.

I use the Yale high security ones. They’re a flat key with dimples in & very hard to ‘bump’ pick.
Standard Euro barrels are pathetically easy to pick.

Excellent video. I always suggest to people that they replace with thumb locks on the inside. In case of a fire, it'll be difficult to find your keys to unlock the door especially if there is thick smoke and you are panicking.

Good job, although the outside of the lock should be flush with the handle surround, only for security reasons as it is rather easy to break those locks off and gain entry if you happen to lose your key.

Nice work. There are different sizes based on the door and trim thickness. And you did the most important step, test it with the door open first 👍

And to find out which Euro Lock you need measure them between the center mechanism. They are sold in various lengths like 30/30, 40/40, 50/40 etc. Buy Ultion Locks to prevent Reptiles Snapping locks to gain entry and robbing your house, well worth the extra cost.

Nicely done, trying loosening the handle screws makes it easier. but it was a little sticking out each side, easy snapped this way. Keep it flush to handles next time and look at upgrading to anti snap something like Yale’s platinum.

Very easy! Any tips as to how I can make the handle less tight? It’s hard to open, it’s the lock more than the handle

The plumber I normally use rang me in a flap after having lost a customers key and he offered to replace the lock. He couldn't grasp how easy it was to just pop it out and slide a new one in until he eventually got it sussed. Definitely an easy one to over think

I replaced mine, but now I don't have night latch so I can open the closet door without inserting the key even when it's open. How do I do this?
