Guys and girls! I forgot to mention some essentials: a small hairbrush, toilet paper, a plastic bag to keep some trash, a pocket knife and a beanie. Don’t forget these! :)

I love the fact that you were afraid the tent stakes would damage anything in your bag, so you placed them in a pocket together with your soft water bottle, and e-reader instead :)

Thanks for the subtitles in your Kungsleden hiking video. It made my day. Loved that video. And this one too. I'm doing the Kungsleden trail next summer. This year I'm hiking locally.

This list helped me so much. I hiked Padjelanta trail last fall and I had a far too big backpack (93L) and too much stuff which was completely unnecessary. So thank you for the video 😊🙏

Mooie, eerlijke, inspirerende video's.

Nice scratch from the surface...

Haha, there's one thing which I always carry with me on the trail... That's cortisone salve incase of HSV-1 symptoms. I saw once a woman on the trail who had this on her face and she looked devastated, and the symptoms were pretty bad.
I learned that the cortisone helps and it really does. At least for me it always did. But what helped the most was that I fixed my life, it was my body telling me that something was off... Haven't got it for years but still take the salve - for just in case. Can help others too :) And as a disclaimer - this is NOT a recommendation, just my experience. I'm NOT a doctor or any health care pro. Got the tip from a doc tho 😂 I quess it's a secret cause the actual salve costs fortune 😁

Hi Floor, thank you so much for sharing your informative and fun gear list video. My husband and I are putting together our gear based on hikers like you and their experiences. Any information helps since we are only starting with some longer hikes. We live in Florida and are planning to be in Sweden, where my husband grew up as a small kid, mid August to do part of the trail. Again thank you.

Hi, I do not have any question to you but maybe two interesting things that you could need on such trails like the wet Kungsleden:
1. As long you are having a Rucksack like an Osprey and not willing to give out lots of money for an ZPacks Pack you could reeinforce the waterrepellence of the Ospreypack by spraying it all around with Nikwax Gear & Solar Proof. It really helps a lot not taking in so much water into the fibre and it dries out much faster, when it has taken a little amount of water in after heavy rain.
2. Even when you have Gore tex Shoes I guess you saw them becoming wet inside anyways. So I like to use a pair of sealskinz waterproof membrane socks. They keep your feet dry and warm and they are very breathable.
3. I hope you did not wash your hair directly in the river?
Nice and informative Video. Thanks!!

Hello! If you would to Kungsleden again, would you do it with hiking shoes/trail runners or would you go with a real hiking boot? Very good videos btw :)

Thanks for the video! A lot of useful tips! Biodegradable soap shouldn't be used in lakes and streams thorugh, it is still harmful to aquatic life.

Hi, great video. I see that you wore hiking boots there. How much muddy/wet were the conditions? Are trail runners a good idea, or is it better to have something more waterproof? I already hiked GR20 and some other trails in trail runners, so I´m not worried about stability - more cold, blisters, etc. from having wet feet.

I heard for the mosquitos spray that is better to buy it in Sweden for it works with swedish mosquitos^^ I heard it for the West Highland Way also

hallo Floor.

Hi Floor,

Hiking newbie here: I was wondering how much cooking gas did you end up using for the whole trip? Planning to do the trip this summer and am intrigued by guessing the amount of gas I’ll need. Do they sell gas at the shops?

Cheers!

Impressed that you took a Zpacks Duplex! I did have a look at it, but ended up taking my Scarp 2 instead. I was on the trail around the same time in 2018 (possibly a tad later) and I have to say that I didn't regret the extra stability in some of the storms. Although I think if you pitch the Zpacks in the right place it would be fine - having the Scarp 2 just allowed me to be more careless with my pitching which was nice in someways because we found some cool camping spots. Also - I couldn't agree more about having 3/4 or full zip rain pants! Great video :)

I never heard about using 2pairs of socks before. What’s the first layer? Are the any specific socks?
