Lena is so smart and funny! One of the best interactions on the show, I kinda wish we saw more of her on TV

I read what the "controversies" on her wiki are, and there is nothing that horrible in there. The amount of vitriol she receives from the public is just a bunch of people's own self-hatred projected onto her. They don't like that the doesn't fit the mold of a polished, conforming Hollywood woman. She is irreverent, deeply brilliant and funny, extremely honest. She wrote an entire series in her early twenties that is more clever and insightful and real than most of the stuff on TV today. An amazing writer. She is truly an inspiration to me!

The hateful comments about her are really horrible. I am not new to the issues around her but this is just disgusting. People like to hate and there's definitely a double standard. Many men who did a lot of shitty things don't get a fraction of the hate that I see in this comment section.
I admire her work and I am glad she contributed with shows like Girls.
It's just crazy that basically everyone will say they are against bullying. And yet so many people still participate in it, on- as well as offline. And always find excuse why in that case it's fine to do so.

C'mon people... there's a lot of very valid things to criticize about Lena Dunham, without attacking her appearance. 

To focus on insulting her looks is incredibly shallow and seems to minimize the fact that this woman has done a DECENT amount of real harm (even just that we know of, and I'm not THAT well-versed on her wrongdoings) but let's try to keep any outrage more focused on her heinous actions, rather than her appearance or outfit.

I love Lena because she is real and funny and brilliant. She struggles with weight and mental health and I applaud her candor. Despite her challenges she does amazing work! Love you Lena!
