It was a great moment indeed to see both player smiling and discussing. I kind of like this pairing for this WC better than the previous year. Ding and Gukesh are more similar to each other in that they both have very mild and friendly personalities, while Nepo is quite an intimidating character lol... He was definitely putting a lot of psychological pressure on Ding last year.

Both players are capable of great level. For Ding, it is about regaining his form. He is indeed an extraordinary player. For Gukesh, for all his brilliance, his first game was below his level. Nerves probably played a part. I am not concerned about Gukesh; Petrosian lost the first game of his 1963 WC match against Botvinnik, but won the match. So, it has been done before. I have been voting for all the Indian players since the 2022 Olympiad, but in this match, I like both players. Best wishes to all!

I'm glad that they drew this second match, and that Ding won the first one. Ding is a great chess player, and I hope this series at least shuts up the people arguing he's the worst world champion. I'm glad that Gukesh has points on the board now though. He seemed so stressed, so tense before, during and after the first match, but here, at the end of the second one, he looked like he was in a better head space. This is good. I don't know who I want to see win the whole thing, but I'm glad it's not been too one-sided so far.

It sucks how the players don’t get money when they draw

Magnus and Fabi criticised the move which was played by Gukesh at match 1. CBI what is your opinion? And Magnus predicted that Diing will win his first match.

Chess played perfectly is a draw. Gukesh going for the draw strategically so he could score, get a stable base in the tournament, break the nerves. And also, for Ding, just to get back his form. He was playing very solidly. The next games will be very interesting. Gukesh will start the aggressive attack next game, we will see how Ding will defend.

The wishes of many are with him, as we see the young wonder so sincere in his pursuit.

I think it was the nerve of the first game and media over hype about Ding's bad form -- which cost him the game. Second game his main focus must be to steady the ship which he did. Also at that level they r mind trained to really stay at the moment, forget past mistakes. I believe today's game must have given him confidence that he belongs here. Looking of a fantastic championship ahead.

Gukesh should play safe until Ding loses his nerves from game 5 onwards

What is the time control for 2024 world championship?

Bobby had lost his first game against Spassky 1972 WC and then forfeited his second too by not playing! Went on to win by a record margin. All that matters is self confidence, nothing else at that level.
