I use tablet camera ito scan documents to convert to PDF. I have an iPad mini 5 and a fire HD10... love them both. For what you get, the HD 10 is fantastic.

I have the 7th gen iPad and like you said it's so much smooth and feature premium build quality. But given that I use it mainly for content consumption, the fire tablet shown here would have done the job just as well. And I don't think using plastic is a con because lets face it. iPads are heavy so using them while in bed or on a couch is bloody uncomfortable. That being said I'm totally in love with the screen though. Apple for the longest time has known how to calibrate a screen well with color accuracy in mind.

How is the video calling on this tablet? more specific can the other person see your face on screen or is it dark and invisible? how does video calling compare to Samsung tab a or an ipad 10.2?

Have you seen the Huawei Mediapad m6? The 8.4 inch version goes for around 300 dollars on CECT and has a kirin 980... Quite the deal.
