Hey there pastor 🙂. I collect Bibles and have commented on several of your vids. I have been curious about the NET translation and finally pulled the trigger and got an "Abide Bible" in NET and I'm really excited about it and for the first time I don't see a review from you.. you're my go to Bible reviewer lol so I couldn't believe it. It's also in NKJV and it's not really a study Bible. It doesn't have the notes, but it has suggestions for journaling and such. It's very lovely. Would love to see you review the abide Bible if you get a chance.

Another wonderful and informative video. It is very difficult to find any constructive critiques of the NET anywhere. For something to be of sacred quality, it must have certain qualities: timelessness, authority, truthfulness, accuracy, and beauty, to mention some of them. On this basis, the modern versions cannot qualify as sacred, and cannot have the status of "holy". These modern versions cannot be authoritative because they are constantly changing, and these changes are determined by majority votes on various committees of various scholars, who, as sincere as they may be, cannot be "trustworthy", especially when their ideas are warmed over ideas gleaned from Westcott and Hort. These modern versions certainly cannot be regarded as timeless; their life span is about twenty-five years at most before there is another revision or they are just abandoned. These modern versions cannot possess truthfulness, given how certain verses such as Mark 1:2 and Luke 23:45 are rendered. These modern versions cannot be said to be accurate, when they use "dynamic equivalency" translation techniques and foist feminist "gender-neutral" language into the text. As for beauty, none of these modern versions can be said to possess that (the ESV) probably comes closest. In the modern world the scholars are not under the authority of the Scriptures, rather, they lord over the Scriptures, as if they were God Himself. They decide what is Scripture and what is not, based on their own secular-minded rationalism, appealing to certain manuscripts with certain often specious arguments. The witness of the Church throughout the ages, the witness of the Church Fathers, creeds, statements of faith given at various times in Church history, all count for nothing with these modern scholars on their committees. This is what happens when the Bible ceases to be the holy sacred Book of the Church, and instead becomes the possession of the secular-minded scholars working in their committees and seminaries and for various publishers. The NET Bible has almost nothing to say regarding the witness of the Church Fathers. Since evangelicals now limit biblical inspiration and inerrancy to the autographs only, and since evangelicals have adopted the ideas of modern text criticism, there no longer is a "Holy" Bible for the Christian believer. As another typical modern version, the NET Bible is not, and cannot be, given the very nature of it as a project, a Christian Holy Bible.
