Cirrus G6 SR-20 power on Stall F***up

Cirrus transition flight #1 - first power on stall. Lots of p-factor. Botched that & let the wing start to dip. Lost 400 ft total from break to recovery. Not a huge amt of rotation but my ass tried to inhale the seatcover regardless.

The quick recovery was good. A big thing from an instructor’s standpoint before the flight and before the maneuvers is emphasizing the positive exchange of controls. Some students can accidentally be fighting the instructor on the control inputs without him or her even aware of it.

When an airplane drops a wing in a stall, for whatever reason, the big key is to immediately neutralize the ailerons and use opposite rudder to stop the start of the rotation into a spin. Our natural tendency is to use opposite aileron to stop the rotation but that will only tighten the rotation. The rudder is the key to stopping the rotation. Even if we end up on our back, with the rotation stopped, we then push forward on the stick to aerodynamically unload the wing, then our ailerons become effective again to help us roll the airplane to the nearest horizon and then we'd ease out of the ensuing dive. Be careful not to pull so hard out of the dive that you over stress the airplane or enter an accelerated stall.

you made the right wing stall and dip more by using left stick in a stall, , , , you would have been far better off not even holding the stick as opposed to what you did

I am in flight training now and also have the issue of the wing dropping and I don't apply any left stick, I probably apply too much right rudder?

try a da20 for spinning
those cirrus are a death trap.. 3 times the crash rate of a da40

big mistake was moving the stick, , , in a stall not lefts or rights ... push forward and use rudder :))
