It would be helpful if Apple addressed how to deal with ‘other’ which takes up more storage than everything else combined on my Mac. This is preventing update to Big Sur.

it's always 'other' taking up the space, but they never address EXACTLY what this is, or how to reduce it, or what is even wrong to have it so large. No system data, which you cant control, should be using 1/3 or more of the disk space it's just an awful design. On top of that, it's constantly changing. 5 mins ago it was using 50gb, now its down to 20gb. I haven't done anything it's just decided to change it's size. How can i install updates and applications if i never know how much space i actually have?
