Показать описание
This is the sixth video of a series on Multicast VPNs (MVPN) and their implementation on both IOS and IOS-XR routers with a focus on CCIE candidate requirements.

In this video, introduce the topic of Multipoint Label Distribution Protocol (MLDP mLDP) before delving deeper into the mechanics and procedures used in mLDP.

We also introduce the following MLDP concepts and the benefit MLSP and MLDP provide in a provider MPLS core

1. P2MP LSPs (Point to Multipoint Label Switched Path)
2. MP2MP LSPs (Multipoint to Multipoint Label Switched Path)

The other topics include:

- MLDP P2MP FEC (Point to Multipoint Forwarding Equivalence Class)
- MLDP P2MP FEC components
- MLDP P2MP FEC MPLS label distribution
- MLDP MP2MP Downstream FEC (Multipoint to Multipoint Forwarding Equivalence Class)
- MLDP MP2MP Upstream FEC (Multipoint to Multipoint Forwarding Equivalence Class)
- MLDP MP2MP Loop prevention in the MPLS forwarding plane (LFIB)

19 min 30s signaling between root Z and Leaf C must not be the opposit ?? c from leaf c to root z and c* from root z to leaf c

Hello! Thank you for video! I have couple questions. When we use P2MP LSP we must dedicate Root Node. LSP will build between Root Node and Leaf Node. In case when we have segment with hundreds Leaf Node can we use some Root Node? How can we configure Root and Leaf Node in this case?

Does the Upstream LSR " Transit router " reacts to downstream label or The root that gonna react to the downstream LSR ? because the downstream label is sent hop by hop until it arrives at The root that react by sending back an upstream label to the leaves . ( please your comment )

Thanks you very much for your videos first of all!
I couldn't understand your explenation about solving the problem with MP2MP Label assignment from teh root (Middle router) toward the Sending leaf as an Upstream FEC Element (from min 26:50 until the end of the video), I listened about 100 times the whole explenation from that part of your video and unfortunatly I couldn't understand any of it, sounds like you confused the Root router (Middle router) and the Leaf router and suddenly you referenced the leaf as Root and the Root (Middle router) as the leaf LSR and I couldn't understand you explenation at all and everything sounds now so confusing and nonsense.

From my understanding till this part of the video and your Number 8 video, I wish you could verify for me if I got that correct:

When Middle router gets the Downstream FEC Element, he will trigger Upstream FEC which will contain different label for each LEAF.
now the Middle router (Root) will have (i.e) Label 1 with P2MP Replication for LEAVES 2+3
Label 2 with P2MP Replication for LEAVES 1+3
Label 3 with P2MP Replication for leaves 2+3
***P2MP Replication doesn't stands for P2MP LSP but for the way the Middle route rwill reference each label by excluding the ingress interface toward the Sending router usin RPF toward that Interface referenced to the Downstream FEC Element.
