it is extra effort, but i d rotate the bells on the way down so that they go in thumbs first. It protects the bicep from sudden and undue (and repeated) stress, allowing your elbow to slightly bend. Snap back out and rotate until desired position (thumbs parallel to ground or almost thumbs up, for me)

Which swing exercise gives the most benefit? Inside or outside the legs? I've been doing it both ways, but I think I like it outside the legs better.
