How to Get Superglue Out of Clothes

Step 1: Soak area
Flush the glued clothing with cold water.

Step 2: Rub the area
Rub the area with a scrub brush or a toothbrush. Repeat until the glue softens and dissolves.

Step 3: Dip into nail polish remover
Dip an old toothbrush into a small amount of nail polish remover with acetone.

Tip
Straight acetone can be used but can discolor synthetic fabrics made with acetate.

Step 4: Brush back and forth
Brush back and forth to remove the glue. Remember to keep super glue away from a child's reach.

Step 5: Treat the area with stain remover
Treat the area with stain remover; then wash it according to fabric label directions.

I got multiple tiny superglue stains on my mostly brand new cotton beige uniqlo pants. I had super old nail polish remover. Put some of the nail polish remover on cotton, then scrubbed with the soaked cotton ball, while feeling with the other hand till it got soft. As soon as it got soft, I put a lot, lot of water on it, and scrubbed again with a fresh cotton ball. It showed signs of the acetone fading the colour of the pants, so maybe I was lucky my pants were beige. This saved my favourite pants.

About six hours had passed since I got the stains, and I was able to remove it. It was an unknown brand of superglue, although if I remember right, it was gel based. It is a bit tedious, both scrubbing steps taking about 30 seconds (for a light stain) to over a minute (for deep stains), but maybe it's worth it

I tried this on a pair of polyester hiking pants and it didn't work great. It cut some of the super glue, but lightened the color around the glue. If I can find a permanent marker that I can blend in carefully enough, I suppose it's an improvement, but this method doesn't work as well as the video pretends that it does.

Folks ... You're taking a big risk on any colored fabric with acetone or nail polish remover. Test a small area that won't show. Use a q-tip. Put a tiny drop of super glue on fabric and let it dry. WET the are before using acetone to weaken it's strength on the fabric. Then decide if that super glue spot is worth it.

If any of you get it on your texas jeans i usually remove it with sandpaper. Just scrub gently. I tried it also on other clothes and i usually works

I followed the steps. It didn't work at all. don't think you should wet the clothes before apply acetone. I will try acetone again after my cloth is dry tomorrow.
