Before I retired 10 years ago I carried the Rajah III as my EDC. Now I carry the Cold Steel Counter Point III. I like the smaller knife for EDC.

I’ll take coldsteel over those overpriced frame lock knives everytime. The number one thing coldsteel does right is they design tools to be used. Many of the companies nowadays first chase gimmicks secondly they design around everything but comfortable use. I don’t care if you can open the knife 16 different ways then it drops shut. I prefer a lock I can trust and a comfortable handle.
I also like how the old coldsteel made the best lock then made models in every price range. Companies like CRKT design a great lock then wanna charge top dollar for 8cr because it has a fancy lock.
I personally love the rahja2 carry it when I go to the woods. My edc is a voyager vaquero xl because it’s cheap and easy to replace if something happens. I carried a large espada g10 for years but it’s to expensive to replace and mine has xhp so it’s even harder to find.
One last thing. What’s your opinion on microtech being Rockwell tested and all the expensive super steel are run soft? That means you get no benefit to having m390 or 20cv. Basically a budget stainless would do the same if not better. Just cost much less. To me that adds to it being pocket jewelry. If I’m paying premium I want premium performance.
I don’t want the famous”we run it soft so it’s easier to sharpen” not because it’s cheaper to heat treat at lower hardness.
When I bring these points up on fakebook the fanboys lose their minds. You’d think they own stock in the company. Don’t understand defending a company just because. Especially one that over charges well better then benchmade they over charge then donate to liberal gun grabbers. They were so bad they now hide all the current donations. Look it up it’s really a eye opener.

My problem is keeping these pocket swords closed in loose carry. I find the tanto profile has less blade mass and rides tighter to the handle (Voyager XL). I removed the thumb studs so there isn’t anything to snag; I wasn’t giving up much because the thumb stud was hard to use anyway (not stiff, just a long reach). That leaves snap out or two handed opening. On the other hand opening the Rajah (I have the III) by snagging a pocket seem - quite feasible even when otoliths pocket and in hand - is quite easy once I got the angle right. Oops $88 today at Amazon couldn’t resist. Thanks for for enthusiasm.

I have all CS mega folders. Rajah II carries lighter than any 6" folder from CS - except the large Luzon and the X2s. Hate myself for having sold my Rajah II witj CTS BD1 steel a few years ago. Oh it carries also lighter than the Spartan. Now I'm searching for a pre GSM RII...

So I just got a few new cold steel Rajah 2 and some Voyager Vaquero... They don't include that red band of death anymore. Seems silly, but that was part of the fun. Seeing the blood warning 😂
