How Rexy Was Captured in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

It may sound like a silly question, but if you take a look at the circumstances and events in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, it kind of DOES beg the question! How WAS Rexy captured in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom?

Keep in mind that this is merely me explaining what COULD have happened, with my opinion based on facts from the movies and some behind the scenes research.

Maybe they had prepared to capture Rexy before, so they just led her into a trap like they did in Jurassic World. Maybe.

*Personally the thing I like about the Jurassic world movies is that a lot of things are left out later to be announced by directors or actors and even shown in deleted scenes this is why I believe that Universal should start making more short films like the battle on Little Rock....*


*My personal opinion is that Rexy was tired from sprinting jumping into the ocean and swimming back to shore but I do remind you that Rexy roared very loudly most likely alerting the dino traffickers giving them a pinpoint on rexy's location giving them time to prepare for a possible encounter may I also remind that after Claire and Franklin accessed the GPS tracking system, Wheatley might have been able to transfer over GPS tracking system to a portable device Rexy showing up to the area or close to the area might have been sheer luck, with sufficient equipment, Manpower and a couple tranquilizers they were able to submit Rexy quickly and put her in a cage*

*I believe it is as you say, there must have been a lapse of maybe 15 - 20 minutes as Owen Claire and Franklin found and swam onto a safe place on Shore*

Well I have a theory about how our girl rexy was captured. Like you said earlier Rexy could've made it to shore and the mercenaries could have been making some final rounds searching for the T rex since Rexy would've brought in the big bucks and they may have had a goat in there in the cage with them. The mercenaries saw rexy and got a head of her the direction she was going they, they set out the trap with the goat inside, rexy was hungry and ate the goat, and the gate was closed behind her. When Owen said "she's tranquilized" she was clearly on the truck. So here's what happened the mercenaries brought rexy back to the docks where there was a truck just for her, the mercs shot her and put her inside of the truck. Or something else could've happened but that's what theory's are for.

I like your thinking. Personally I believe the Rex did not go into the water, but ran another way where she got to outrun the lava ash and into the path of the hunters. Apparently they were indeed ready with an easy deployable cage, lowered onto a truck, tranquilized and moved unto the boat. But like you I don't really care and suspend disbelieve :)

I think its because rexy is getting old and her stamina probably has been decreasing over the years and if you watch rexy's movement you can see she is not as fast as to when she was in the first jurassic park film and maybe the fight with the indominus rex broke a few of rexy bone's and my theory is rexy is an old and battle worn tyranosaurus and she was running for her life and when she is swiming she probably is able to reach the shor before owen and the other's or that rexy went to a different shor before colapsing out of exhaustion and the mercenary's probaly has the cage for a different dinosaur but saw rexy and decided to capture her instead and before loading her into the ship the mercenary's shoot a tranquiliser at rexy making her fall asleep and thats my theory

One critical thing to keep in mind is while she is strong and powerful, she is slowing down age wise since the average Rex lived about 30 years or so. That combined with jumping into the water and swimming would have some affect and maybe enough to make her easier to catch. Plus the hunter may have set up near shorelines in hoping to catch last minute stragglers.

T.Rex could swim, it can swim faster than it could run, remember : T.Rex had a long and very muscular tail, it had big strong legs, Also dinosaurs had air sacks in their skeletons, and also they had air sacks attached to their lungs, just like birds, so they can easily float . Rexy could swim really well.

It was a shame they didn’t show Rexy getting captured.

1. mercenary got tracking system on rexy to know were she's at around the shore.
2.if she may swim to shore she have wasted her energy leading to exhaustion and callopse.
3. One mercenary sedate rexy then they lore her into a trap.
4. Finally when the tranq work fell into trap and pick her up.

I’m so happy to find a video on this topic. Me and my friends have had quite a few discussions attempting to figure this out. Nothing really covers all the bases and it really just seems to come down to ‘because movie’ type logic. Considering how Rexy continues to follow this ‘because movie’ logic throughout the rest of the rest of the film (ie going back to sleep after Owen woke it up and not escaping its cage in the Lockwood manor when a stygimoloch could) I don’t think you could find a rational explanation

What if rexy got back on the beach went “PHEW that was a hard swim gosh darn my arms are sore I’m gonna just lay down here and take a quick break” the the mercenaries were like me take this” then quickly loaded it up while it was tired and just went “what ever ima just break out like I did in that old park so ima just SLEEEEP” then story done the end
