PSA: Sticky pistons with slime blocks will become desynced when loading and unloading the farm and end up sticking together.
You will have to turn off the mechanism anytime you leave the area the farm is built in if you don't feel like breaking and replacing the slime every time you use the farm.

What are your rates like? The problem with gold farms is that they are too efficient for hoppers. Even your version has a bottle neck in the middle hopper which could lead to some loss. I wonder if it's possible to make a completely hopper-less design from the killing floor to the sorting? But that might be just unnecessary work as even with losses, gold farms in general are very lucrative.

Oh I made a gold farm and had to mine 15 THOUSAND magma blocks, I am not putting myself through that pain again lol.
