FBX exporting starts at 3:26
This helps me stay awake editing more videos late at night after work.

If you have problems you will need to start from the beginning of the video.

[Edit] Freeze transformations and reset transformations are located in the 'modify' menu.

Exporting geometry as FBX with embedded textures can help avoid messy export folders, and having to tell the program where the textures are located each time you import something.
This tutorial also briefly outlines a simple process of snapping the pivot to the base of your geometry prior to export.

Bless you sir, I was having so much trouble with maya throwing warnings and errors when I tried to export with textures until I followed this tutorial

thanks a lot, I surched and surched but couldn't find any helpful Tutorial, but thanks to you I managed to import my maya models WITH THE TEXTURES INCLUDED into unity😊👍

Thank you so much! I made a model with a ton of textures and I export it into unity and all the textures were gone! Now I know it's very easy to export them :)

only one texture map gets exported the rest of the channels at import are empty. And do not appear in the created folder. Only the albedo is exported

sorry i did the tutorial, but at the end i didnt get that material folde... if a press number 6 i can see the model on maya with full colour, but not the external like u have at the end of video

Its only export the diffuse map...how to export fbx with normal map and specular maps..etc... plese help sir
