Easy homemade yogurt with UHT/Long life milk

The name ‘shelf stable’ or ‘long-life’ is used to describe milk that has been treated and packaged in a special way to help it last longer without refrigeration. The process is a unique type of pasteurisation called 'ultra-heat-treated' or UHT. UHT milk has a bright white colour and a slightly different taste to regular pasteurised milk and is chemical and preservative free, and can be used to make great homemade yogurt in the Luvele range of yogurt makers.

Looks great, I haven't tried with uht milk. I'll need to see if there are organic options.
An important aspect for me is to be energy conscious. So once the yoghurt has finished it's time in the maker. Leave it on the counter to cool down, then put it in the fridge.
So we only use precious electricity when it's really necessary.

Hi, Great video. You make it look very simple. I'm new to this and so far have been trying 1L low fat UHT milk without the milk powder. I think I will try adding some milk powder in. After straining to make Greek yoghurt, I'm getting about 500ml in liquid straining out which seems like a LOT. Its very thin and watery. The yoghurt becomes very thick and dry, and then I need to stir back in a little milk to moisten it up. But it's fine after that. Here's the question: on the whey you strain from yoghurt made from UHT milk, can this whey be used as starter for the next batch? As mentioned above, im getting a LOT of whey and it's really thin and watery. Thanks in advance for anything you can offer.

I have two questions: #1 - Did you incubate the yogurt starter for 12 hours because you made 2 liters? #2 - How long would you incubate 1 liter of yogurt starter? Thanks for this video.

Really nice, can I use a small grocery bought yogurt if I dont have yogurt starter?

Thank you for the easy yogurt recipe. Almost all of our fresh milk in the grocery are UHT which makes this recipe really amazing. How long can we store the batch of yogurt in the refrigerator?

If heating do I add milk powder then heat like other recipes?

Hi, what if i will use a UHT liquid milk, but it was opened already bec my aunt drink some of it, and i will use the remaining, but i put it in the refrigerator, do i need to boil it again? Or doesnt need anymore? Tnx

Once everything is in the jar, do I secure the lid into the jar, or do I let it sit loosely on top? I’ve seen other videos where people say to let it sit loosely or it won’t ferment right? Please advise

I have only UHT milk

I have tried using green chilies as starter, failed many times.

Can I replace your starter with store bought plain yogurt(any brands?)
