My friends and I would greedily snap up any RPGs available and try them out. Lots of Palladium, AD&D, Boot Hill, GURPS, Marvel(FASERIP), DC, Cthulu, etc. We finally began making our own systems to roleplay. We were crazy! However, that love of roleplaying and universe-building found its way into my eventual writing for The 2nd Shift, Wanderers of Melisanda, and the upcoming Paradise Hills.

Are you excited that West End Games is releasing D6 System Second Edition is coming out through Kickstarter? You should do a quick video talking about your thoughts on the upcoming update.

That sounds boring, you know why? Just because of how the math works out. When you roll multiple dice, all the possible results form a parabola with middling results being overwhelmingly more likely than extreme ones. If I'm rolling 12d6 and the DM is rolling 15d6, seems like it's just a small 3 die difference, right? Well, because we're rolling so many dice, it's statistically almost impossible for me to beat the DM's roll. 12d6 have only a 3.7% chance of hitting the average roll of 15d6, which is a total of 53. So with most interactions, I already know what result to expect. Whereas in D&D, with a bonus-based additive system and the potential for homeruled critical successes and failures, there's much more potential for interesting narrative twists.
