In honor of this week being the premiere of Multiverse of Madness AND the finale of Moon Knight, I thought it was time to release a few of my unpopular Marvel opinions. I hope you all still like me after this video, and know I still love the MCU (even though this video is dedicated to everything I don’t like about it). Leave one of your unpopular MCU opinions in the comment section below - if you dare!

I agree with you in regards to Thor: The Dark World, that movie gets far too much hate, especially since it was the first actual mention of the Infinity Stones.

I also think that Thor and Loki’s relationship had some pretty decent development that was needed, especially for Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame to work as well as they do

Great video idea Sasha. I can’t believe we are again on a MCU week with Moonknight Finale and Multiverse of Madness. My Hot Take is that I think The Mandarin reveal in Iron Man 3 is Brilliant and original and unpredictable at the same time.

Great video Sasha! Definitely agree....also that I personally gravitate to the more grounded phase I/II Marvel movies than the most expanded/ ambitious multiuniverse movies. I did enjoy most of them (newer magic/fantasy) such as Doctor Strange/Avengers Infinity War (Still over Endgame...haha) Then, sometimes you personally love a suddenly "out there/SPACE" movie such as Guardians of the Galaxy. Very stand-alone, full of likeable characters in SPACE...very bright and full of space adventure. Complete opposite of my first impression of the 2nd Thor movie. Nothing against it being "dark/bleak/etc" but uninteresting....except for Loki's shenanigans of course...haha

As for my unpopular opinions with the MCU, I do have one that comes to mind for their upcoming films. I’m not sure about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever being a theatrical release. I do want to give it a chance and see the execution, we’ll see when the first trailer arrives. But for the story with Shuri being the next Black Panther, I see that as more of a TV series than a movie in my opinion. I feel like that story would work better as a series develop throughout each episode.
Also while I’m thankful that they’re not recasting T’Challa or doing CGI tricks. I do think they’re going to honor Chadwick Boseman’s legacy and his accomplishments as an actor. I do feel like it won’t be the same without him and not sure about it coming out 2 years after his tragic passing. I do want to give it a chance and the benefit of the doubt but as for now, I’m 50/50 on that sequel happening. Enjoyed hearing your opinions, Sasha.

Some definite valid points here mentioned by you. I fear we may get to a point in time where the MCU as a whole is a mess😬 but I’m gonna enjoy it everyday up until then haha

Thanks for the video Sash! I really hope Dr. Strange 2 doesn’t suck and doesn’t get too messy. I do agree with you that the Marvel hype train has grown too big. Like you said, the movies are consistently good… but where does the excitement come from then? That’s just me though. As for fans, I couldn’t care less what they think is the “general consensus opinion is” or what is “comic book accurate”… don’t care at all haha. Great video 👍🏻

I totally agree with you on the first point. I feel much more connected to the ground level aspect.

I think the dark world is mostly weak but I love the middle sequence from the funeral to the escape.

About the stakes aspect, I think that stakes refer to more than just death. The emotions and the reactionary aspect of the supporting character is just as important.

I am also very hesitant on doctor strange 2. I am welcomed to be surprised.

Disagree on the last point to an extent. Don’t really have a strong opinion on it.

As a channel dedicated to hot takes, well done. I like your comment on the "no stakes" critique. I can add on to that and say, the Mission Impossible films for example. People barely died in those movies, but they're still great to watch.

As for my hot takes, I think both Guardians of the Galaxy and Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings are the most overrated MCU Films. Great video

Dr. Strange 2 has a runtime of 2h6m. I did NOT have your fears of it being too busy until I saw that last week.

That was a fun list and a great start for discussion. I don't have major qualms, but I will say that as far as your lower interest in the supernatural and space elements of Marvel, you are really not going to like the rest of the Phases 4-6 of this second version of the infinity stones saga of phases 1-3. Feige said it would be more focused on that side of things and you can tell that's already where it's going. And with The Fantastic 4 and Secret Wars and Blade coming up, plus strong possibilities of things like The Midnight Sons, hang onto your hat, my friend.

You are also extremely hypocritical, because you LOVE Loki and he is not only a God, but a God of MAGIC... Just sayin'. LOL. (I know, I know: "But... Tom Hiddleston! (Swoon.)" Your biases are understandable.

Limiting the MCU to just being grounded ALL the time is a ridiculous perspective, that was the main setup for Phase 1 which was introducing the concept of the entire universe and grounding the majority of the characters (bar Thor since he’s Asgardian) but for Phase 2 onwards they’ve introduced both the cosmic side and the magic side, Thor set the magic side up WAY back in his first movie explaining to Jane how his people see the universe compared to her people (that being humans obviously), if you don’t connect with the stories or the characters that’s fine but saying that those segments of the universe are a detriment is fundamentally wrong and would limit the MCU far too much to be confined to one planet at one time, it’s thanks to magic and the multiverse that Tobey and Andrew’s Peters were able to team up with Tom’s and help him deal with the events of No Way Home, I do share the concern that Multiverse of Madness will be too hectic especially for the small runtime it’ll have but it is directed by Sam Raimi so if anyone can make the story for it works it’s the legend who made the original Spider-Man trilogy, I’m not being aggressive with this comment I’m just pointing out what I personally disagree with with these opinions

Personally, I find the villains of the solo origin films to be ground, yet one-dimensional and boring.

Unpopular opinion: Iron Man could be a better character.

You think not thinking Thor: The Dark World is the worst MCU is unpopular? I’ll do you one better. ;)

Thor: The Dark World is by far the best Thor movie, Thor: Ragnarok is by far the most overrated MCU movie, and Thor 1 is by far the weakest of the three. I just feel like in terms of its less predictable story, character growth, and how much focus the Asgardians have, The Dark World easily does it the best out of the three. Whereas Thor 1 was way too much of a formulaic, by-the-numbers fish-out-of-water story that had way too much focus on human characters I don’t care about, and Thor: Ragnarok was way too much of a comedic buddy-road trip with very little character growth, hit-and-miss jokes, and axed off certain characters from previous Thor movies in the most disrespectful of ways ala Terminator: Dark Fate. The Dark World is the one Thor film where I felt like the Asgardians were actual people with a solid amount of depth to them, and it also helps that Asgard easily has the most screen time of all the Thor movies. Sure, it’s not the best MCU movie ever and it’s far from perfect. The human characters still aren’t very interesting (although I appreciate they get less screen time than the first), and the villain is just straight up forgettable, but aside from that, I’ve personally never understood the amount of hate the film suddenly got over the years.

Ok controversial opinion aside, this was a great video. Thank you so much for sharing all your thoughts on the MCU. I always love hearing what you have to say about it.
