I am African American, but I have always had so much respect and love for the Maori, Polynesian, Samoan cultures. I know I may be missing some, but respect them all. I have always wanted to learn and perform one of the dances and chants to be able to show those in the culture that i love and respect them. I did sing Chant of the Islands though i messed up on it. I'm not Polynesian, nor Māori, but as a black woman, I really love war dancing. I would want to try this out one day. Tribal traditions like these is what help me learn to love my own roots while we should all embrace our bloodlines.
