From the producers of the Jurassic, Bourne and Indiana Jones series comes Twisters,
a current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster, Twister. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar® nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing, Normal People) and Glen Powell (Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick) as opposing forces who come together to try to predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes.

Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos, In the Heights) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.

As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.

Twisters features an exciting new cast, including Nope’s Brandon Perea, Sasha Lane (American Honey), Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Nik Dodani (Atypical) and Golden Globe winner Maura Tierney (Beautiful Boy).

From Amblin Entertainment, Twisters is directed by Lee Isaac Chung and is produced by Oscar® nominee Frank Marshall (Jurassic and Indiana Jones franchises) and by Patrick Crowley (Jurassic and Bourne franchises). The screenplay is by Mark L. Smith, writer of the Best Picture nominee The Revenant. Twisters will be distributed by Universal Pictures domestically and by Warner Bros. Pictures internationally.

Nearly 30 years after the original and I highly suspect that the originals special effects will look more realistic than the over-the-top cgi that we get nowadays

I love this movie and I'm a 90s Oklahoma dude. Always been a fan of Twister, this trailer really does not give this movie the justice it deserves.
Its a fine film people, dare I say it Twisters is better than Twister and I hope there are more to come.
I love how it is meteorologically accurate to us weather fans who don't have a degree. The science behind it seems totally possible to me. It's a grounded movie.

I'm also a CGI fan as an artist, and wow, the storm physics in this movie are incredibly realistic looking, it's hard to tell what's real or CGI at times in this movie.
The scene that blows my mind that regular film goers don't even notice is a short invisible CGI shot of a wheat field as the wind changes directions. If it's CGI it's expertly perfect, if it's real, what a lucky beautiful shot!

Also the Story! Wow, I love this story, I think it's way better and deeper than the 1st movie. I didn't think I would like any of the characters after the trailer, but I was totally wrong, there isn't a single character who didn't carry their weight or make me dislike them for being too over the top or something.

Go watch Twisters! I am very pleasantly surprised by this coming in with low expectations. It's hard to follow an iconic movie, but they did a fine job on this one, and I'm ready for....

Have the franchise build up to the legendary EF6 tornado. EF6 ratings are deemed to be unimaginable damage.
Solid Concrete is turned turned to sand or dust from the finely granulated debris sanding away everything in it's path at speeds well over 300mph, the fastest wind speeds ever recorded on earth was in Moore Oklahoma May 3rd 1999. There is a video of this tornado that is spinning so fast that Horizontal Tornados are coming out of it sideways! It's called a horizontal vortex, or vortecies.its terrifying, like a mile wide hydra or kraken just destroying your hometown. I lived nearby this monster tornado and drove past the damage every day until it was rebuilt. I will never forget just how terrifying May 3rd was, when adults and experts on TV are powerless to do anything about what is happening before our eyes, it's an ominous humbling feeling, all you can do is pray for survivors to be found.

The movie is already out in Australia. Honestly I think it’s pretty good, however it is a stand alone sequel with little references to the original twister.

I'll go see it. Won't be the same as the original. But it looks like a similar story. They could have at least worked in Helen Hunt as the matriarchal character. As the Aunt May character in the original movie.

As someone who is equally fascinated and terrified of tornadoes (due to ptsd from being in a tornado in a car and a few others) I wanna watch this.
