Unified observability for microservices across app, container, and data stacks | CloudWorld 2022

Developers want a variety of tools for microservices debugging and performance tuning, and to look through application metrics, logs, and traces. Traditionally, these tools have two problems: They cover the app and middle tiers, not the data tier; and, secondly, the tools' chains are separate and require a manual effort to correlate events. The first step for autonomous DevOps for applications and data (and microservices) is to unify the metrics, logs, and traces into a single dashboard. We show this convergence through a sample financial services application using Grafana as the dashboard—sharing the exporters that are built to aggregate and analyze all three types of application footprints.
