The interdependence of research and border politics

Clemens Binder, PhD candidate at the University of Vienna and visiting student at the Department of War Studies, King’s College London, discusses
the interdependence between research politics and border politics and investigates how research programmes and projects are shaped by and simultaneously shape policies of border control. In doing this, this talk explores how specific, often violent and exclusionary forms of the border become perpetuated through R&D and additionally examines the gaps between the desired and actual input of the research projects.
