I think the biggest problem is just how little information/news we get about the development or even existence of the game. Team Cherry has been completely silent for such a long time that the community has become starved for literally anything about it. If we were officially told that Silksong wont be ready for another 5 years then I think people would be less feral about it than they are now, simply because of the lack of any communication. It's completely understandable why since its a lot of work to interact with the community and develop a game with such a small team, but at least a small message or two would be nice.

I feel like people just forget that developing a game is a long and tiring process, which sucks, if you are a small studio recieving this much pressure from the fans to release the game it could lead to crunch and other stuff

As a Hollow Knight oriented speedrunner, I agree fully with you on this! The amount of speculation, complaining and constant whining about silksong gets really tiring when you have to see it constantly, day in and day out. Nevertheless, i'm super excited for the follow up to my favourite game of all time, and no matter how long it takes, i'm sure team cherry will deliver. We just have to be patient and give them the time to work on the game until they feel ready to release it!

Agree. As uncle Ben once said: "The more power, the more responsibility". Like man, Hollow Knight was an indie game made by couple of people with small budget. And the game is phenomenal. Even some AAA games is not on the same level of content, story, gameplay as a Hollow Knight. And Silksong is gonna be better. SO let Team Cherry cook and made the best indie game oat.

silksong can take all the time in the world I’m still playing pizza tower (getting all of the achievements has been BRUTAL but it’s so fun) and getting ready to complete all of the steam workshop hat in time death wishes soon (there are over 1, 000 stamps throughout the workshop so that’ll be fun)

I respect Team Cherry immensely for simply keeping their heads down and working on the game without trying to hype it up too much through updates and marketing. It really shows that they are focused on working their asses off to make the best game possible.

Even 3 people with a small budget can make a better game than 50% of billion dollar corporations. That mean something...it MUST mean something.

It's upsetting because people are hyping this game up like second coming of Christ and there's a big chance at this point it won't live up to the expectations.

as excited as i am for silksong i do agree the fandom has pissed me off. not just because of their constant nagging of team cherry but they also seem completely closed to any game that isn’t silksong. i’ve seen so many indie games that developers poured their heart and souls into being trashed just because it’s not silksong, and that behavior is just kind of disgusting.

i completely understand what you said, but i think that what makes this artificial hype envolving silksong is the lack of a confirmation about the date that silksong will come out, even if the would take 10 years to develop i think the community would understand, but this uncertance of dont knowing a date is what make everyone going clow mode in the nintendo directs(and yes i know that xbox confirmad that the game would launch in 2023 buts is kinda hard to believe that when you dont have not even a word of team cherry)

It might take time, but remember that the biggest probabbility here is that the longer it takes, the better it's gonna be.
