While I love adopting Reanimated 2 in our app, having a lack of remote debugging has certainly worsened the DX on our team's dev cycle. We've had to find workarounds for debugging breakpoints, network requests & our redux store (such as requiring a separate redux remote dev server). Hoping that this will improve over time.

note: reanimated is still unusable for non trival apps as you arent able to use the js debugger. Renaimated does work with flipper, but flipper doesn't work with expo. It's all fun and games until you hit an issue that requires a proper debugger (eg inspecting apollo cache).

Great explanation! I only have 2 questions. Is it possible to have expo modules (e.g securestore) in pure react native projects? 2) can I replace the react-native Animation API with reanimated2 or it works in a completely different way?
