My mom used to play this when I was little.
Some 50 years later as she was nearing the end of a long battle with cancer, this became "her song". Whenever it is played, I think of her.

i am now 71, but i am sitting in my front room, snows falling, been falling all day, couldnt go to school, mums sitting by the log fire , sitting with her eyes closed, feeling relaxed
listening to this clair delune, dads phoned hes on his way home from work ing out side, cats curled up by me on the couch, its 4 0 clock pm, my eyes are getting heavy every second , i close them just before looking over at my mum, and smiling i open them again i am 71 again, it was a day dream . tears start to day i will see you again my parents god willing amen

My mother is slowing dying from a lung disease (thanks covid). She played this often when I was a kid. Now she wants it played at her funeral. To have to even think about that is so upsetting. But this song is so pretty, Mom will love it.

I played this on the piano, not very well, but loved it, as did my mother. I suggested it for her funeral, but didn't follow through. Then I found a piece of paper in her drawer after the funeral that said she wanted "Clair de lune" played at her funeral. I was so upset I didn't have it played. And now listening to it makes me wish it all over again along with the crying.
