I didn't mention this a few weeks ago, but Rousseau is now over 2 years old!! It's amazing to think how far we've come as a community in that time. I still remember those few weeks before uploading the first video that were filled with a ton of recording. I have not mentioned this before, but the original Clair de lune recording was actually the first video I created, essentially a sight-read test to experiment with video effects. I'll be honest, I was not expecting more than a few thousand views, and as of right now it has now been viewed over 19 million times. That is truly hard to comprehend. Now during lock down, reminiscing on those days, I decided it would be nice to spend a bit more time working on the piece, and remake the video in the 2020 style! I'm sure you'll agree, many things have been refined over those two years - one of the biggest things that stuck out to me was the velocity curves of the piano library being set too strong on the first video, making the recording sound like it's being played at f throughout, along with the color which quite a few people mentioned. I hope this one can be a fresh new take on the piece in this visualization style, that can please both the ears and the eyes :) Wishing you all a happy and healthy Monday, and two weeks ahead ♥

This song is only 6 minutes but it feels like a lifetime of emotions

what i love about how rouseeau performed this piece is the lengthy pauses near the end. in those moments, even though the chords are in a major key and sound hopeful, you can hear their sadness. in the quiet moments between the chords you get overflown with such emotion, the sadness and dismay Debussy felt while composing this piece.

At age 16 my grandmother passed away and before she did she asked that i performed her favourite Piece of music. I practiced so much. I have never cried so much because she showed me how much music can really be affected by the human emotions as i listened to it play at her funeral. From then i always remembered that feeling. Rest in peace grandma

2:16 No matter who the pianist is, beginner, amateur, or advanced. This part always gives me the chills, it always makes me close my eyes and erase everything that I am thinking about. This part will always give me goosebumps till the end of my life.

I have played piano for 19 years and this is one of my favorite pieces to play.
My father told me this was one of his favorite pieces and I remember just practicing it one day and he gave me $50.
He passed away a year ago and he asked me to play this at his funeral and I did.
I pray that every time I play it that he can hear it.
RIP Dad

this was the last piece that was played at my best friends funeral. He was only 10 and he died to cancer. I will never forget this piece, I remember it too well. It’s such a beautiful piece and it sticks into me so well. I will also never forget my cousin and how he was so different to everyone else, he would always get into every conversation and make everyone laugh and smile. I’m gonna miss you Charlie.

Anyone else wonder what Rousseau’s third Hand is doing when he doesn’t need it?

Imagine Claude Debussy Creating that Piece on his house with a grand piano in front of a big window looking at the Eiffel Tower on a Cold December Night and on the sky a beautiful Full Moon

This song always brings me to years. It reminds me of my sad Depressing life. I'm 82 years old, and I have leaved throughout lots of moments that I just can't forget. I was a violin player in the new York Philharmonic for 20 years. I loved this little butifull piece of music. I cried when I heard it for the first time.
Thanks you all.
