Actually, setting "HostNameItem: system.hostname" and leaving HostName blank will prevent such a thing. You can put zabbix agent on all your (identical) hosts with the same conf file.

To be more precise, we use:

Server=<your zabbix server>

ServerActive=<your zabbix server>

HostnameItem=system.hostname

HostMetadataItem=system.uname

Hi,

I got an error when creating a new host
"Get value from agent failed: ZBX_TCP_READ() failed: [104] Connection reset by peer"
what will be the problem at all??

I surf all around the net, still can't find any solution

thanks for the tutorial. I would like to update from 4.0 LTS to 4.4 but our db is postgres.. what u recommend to stay on LTS untill next LTS version or could be easy small updates from 4.0 to 4.2 .. 4.4 etc .. thanks again
