LOTR was my first fantasy read, The Foundation Trilogy was my first sci fi read. That was all she wrote…hooked on both ever since!

My third book from the masterpieces of science fiction is on the way to me now. I believe it’s going to be War of the Worlds. Really glad EP brought back this series.

That is a beauty! The envy is through the roof!
On the topic of not reading your nice editions though, I agree with you that I don't want to smudge or tear my books. I cried like a baby when my edition of The Last Wish got its spine cracked..
But I'm taking steps to be very careful not to smudge, bend or rip any of my books.

For me it is a pleasure to hold and read e a beautiful copy of a book. But it is hard to do so and keep it nice at the same time. I just don't feel right having books on my shelfs that aren't gonna be read at some time.

This is pretty nice! I've wanted to get the FS edition, but it's quite pricy imo. And I also really like the Barnes & Noble leatherbound edition, but never got it because too many people say there is too many errors in the text, including missing segments.

A pet peeve of mine is the HUGE page margins that some Folio Society books have, e.g. DUNE. It's a waste of paper.
