Luminar at IAA 2021

That's a wrap on IAA Mobility and an incredible week in Munich. Thanks to partners like Mobileye Inalfa and Webasto showcasing new Luminar Iris integrations, and to our customers who experienced the live debut of Proactive SafetyTM.

The test demonstrations of Proactive SafetyTM at IAA Mobility featured a car (Lexus) that we equipped with a Luminar sensor operating our latest Perception software. The Luminar-equipped car is able to avoid a collision with a moving test-dummy pedestrian. The other vehicle shown during test demonstrations at IAA Mobility was a 2020 Tesla Model 3 with Autopilot (Tesla’s brand name for their SAE Level 2 Assisted Driving feature) running software version 2021.12.25.7. Each of the cars in this test operated with a driver behind the wheel, starting from a distance of 120m and traveling at various speeds up to a top speed of 80km/h.
