Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Chinese President Xi Jinping has inspected 14 contiguous areas of extreme poverty concentrated in a region, and held seven poverty alleviation symposiums. He said the pursuit of people's happiness and better living standards is an everlasting theme. The cooperation between Fujian Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region that he promoted has become a good example of partnership between the east and west of China.
