Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has been talking about poverty alleviation at the Two Sessions held during the past years. Over the years, he hosted seven central conferences on poverty alleviation, conducted over 50 investigations on poverty alleviation, and visited all 14 contiguous impoverished areas in the country.
