The funniest thing would be how "iie" (いいえ), sometimes pronounced "iya" (いや), means "no" in japanese but it means "yes" in indonesian. The word has the exact same sound but the meaning is a polar opposite!

"aku" (アク) in japanese is "boku" (僕)
"kamu" (カム) in japanese is "kimi" (君)
"suka" (スカ) in japanese " is "suki" (好き)

BARA = red hot part of burned wood/coal/charcoal

coal = batu bara [ID], which if translated word by word, it's "red glowing burned stone" eventhough it's black

Ada satu kalimat yg sering kita anak-anak daerah kalimantan barat gunakan ketika bermain petak umet atau kejar-kejaran, "cop mate=indonesia yg artinya tunggu sebentar atau istirahat sejenak, tetapi digunakan pada saat bermain (tidak tau apakah masih digunakan anak-anak bermain di waktu sekarang ini)", "chotto matte=jepang yg artinya sama, tunggu sebentar tetapi di gunakan sehari-hari"
