The reason the cities weren't there in the 13th Century was bcoz the Biblical sources say they were destroyed at the beginning of the 14th. The Bible says the Conquest began around 1400 BC/BCE but archaeologists only begrudgingly admit to the Israelite's arrival in the middle of the 13th Century (circa 1250 BC/BCE) based on the dating of the Merneptah Stele which mentions Israel. They've moved the goalposts & then claim there was no goal even tho the ball went straight down the middle of where they used to be.
