How embarrassing. When you have to struggle soo hard to not give a direct answer.

I loved it how this guy was cool with drowning children in the flood, but not having god kill his own children.

The cope on this guy is magnificent. But not in a good way.

I watched that talk. I’m grateful that there are those like PC to have these discussions. I’ve come to accept that I don’t have the patience for such a conversation.

1 Peter 3:15 in the bible must be a misprint. It was supposed to read "be ready always to dodge giving an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you"...

The baseball clips inserts were wonderful.

This guy makes it look really easy to become a Christian ("I just believed it"), but makes it look like a difficult dance to remain one.

What a terrible thing, to make what seems like a decent old man think he's a reprobate.

I always thought Sainte Claus was a good man, I thought wrong I guess.

One of the main things that theist do wrong is to not answer directly and to take into account perception when answering.
This may not matter to the more hardline theist but when people who care about the conversation notice one side always does this and one side always avoids talking about certain subjects it gives this almost instinctual signal that this side is wrong.

I think I said this before. I watch Doug to reassure myself I'm not going to hell and I don't believe in it anymore. "Anybody??? Anybody??"

Watched the original. Such a riggler, sounds like a snake?!

Calvinism actually holds to Singular Depravity, which mean that people can do anything except accept Christ. That is the one thing they cannot do, unless God does it first.

Oooo second time I've been first to like... :)

1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

The problem with Calvinistic total depravity is that it assumes that TD equals total inability. While our natures may be evil, our wills are not bound solely to that nature. Take Adam and Eve, they were created totally good and yet had the ability to freely choose evil. Does this mean that God put a tidbit of evil in them? No. It simply means that they have the free will to choose something other than their nature.

So, that was weird. The guy kept pressing for an answer that can't be given. NO ONE "accepts" Jesus. That doesn't even make any coherent or logical sense. I think the question he needed to go for was _"Is _*_believing_*_ Jesus a good thing."_ And, of course, the answer to that question is _"Yes, absolutely."_ But he's not going to ask that question because, if he's as smart as he thinks he is, he knows he has no control over that and cannot claim responsibility or credit. No one has any control over what they believe. That is why God says that faith is a gift, given by him, and believed by us, and our own volition in the matter is not even a factor. You hear the gospel. You believe, or you do not believe. But one thing is *abundantly* clear: It's not given to you as a choice, and no choice is made in either receiving or rejecting it. Period. If you are the person who will reject it, then you will reject it, and you have no other response. If you believe it, then you simply believe it, and you also have no other response.

The question sets up a false dichotemy. If there is anything good in anyone it comes from the generally applied provisions of God.

I thought Calvinism was part of Christianity.

Is "good" an objective value?
