thought this was my answer but no. it has successfully broken my lines into separate ones, but still has two lines sitting on top of each other - any further suggestions? other than manually one at a time deleting each top path

Great.... If I do have a large drawing with hundreds of these situations, my cutter will cut each line with anchorpoint in each end individually!!! Meaning lifting up blade for every anchorpoint. Is there a solution to this?

Still looking for a solution. Not really duplicate lines (they overlap for some distance but they are not the same, duplicate line. More like partially overlapping lines. Thanks though.

Damn this is good idea. Have got any idea how DWG files can be messed? Thank you for brilliant idea. I was so frustrated with Ai, tried some free CAD apps... This helped a lot!!!

Great but there must be an easier way, Corel for example has a function to delete "double lines". Is there nothing similar in Ai?
