Learn English Idioms with Dana from Wanted an Adventure!

---------------
Today’s Lesson:

To keep an eye on someone: to watch or monitor someone closely

Actions speak louder than words: what a person says they’re going to do isn’t as important as what they actually do

To make a stink about something: to make trouble about something

To lose your touch: to be unable to do something as well as you could before

It’s an acquired taste: describing something you need to consume several times before you gain an appreciation for it

Just around the corner: not far away/occurring soon

Some of these idioms are used in Italy too!
"To keep an eye on.." - "dare un'occhiata a.." or  "tenere d'occhio"
" Actions speak louder than words" it is similar to " i fatti parlano chiaro"
"to lose your touch" -  "perdere la mano" or "perdere il tocco"

No one says "to make a stink about it"...source: Me. American for 33 years. Maybe in 1950. However, it's 2015.

For anyone watching this, note that this is AMERICAN. It's not very clearly shown in the title. Else you might get very odd looks if u come to UK talking like this.
