My opinion these new 120XP are the Supreme king of ratchets! Nothing else out there can touch them! I like very quiet smooth ratchets. Nothing worse than hearing a bunch of loud cricket sound when your ratcheting a new engine together. I just ordered this 2 pc set 1/4-3/8 from Amazon. Comfort grip. Cant wait to get them in couple days.

This 1/4" ratchet is the best one ive ever used.

From the locking flex heads i use to have, i really appreciate the locking button not protruding out on the GW. I use to find spots where the protruding ones wouldnt fit.

I have the Gearwrench 1/4 comfort grip and the head movement is a bit distracting. In actual use, it’s not so bad. The 120 is so smooth. I have the Carlyle 1/4 long, locking flex head and that locks in solid. It’s 72 teeth not as smooth but very reliable. I have that exact Carlyle 3/8 long locking flex head and is my favorite ratchet. Bought the Carlyles several years ago but now the prices are crazy for them.

They are literally some of the best ratchets you can get, They make the 90tooth version for cheaper but these imo Reign supreme over almost Everything else!

I have the regular 3/8 90 tooth ratchet, and it’s one of my favorites. Gearwrench does a great job, I gotta check these out too

Thank you for such a great review. Had to watch twice. Very good info, and learned a lot more than just about the tool. Thank you again!

I have an interest in developing as a hobbyist mechanic and was in the market for a better 3/8. I'll drop the 70 on this because I think the usage will justify it. Will probably stick with cheaper ratchets on the 1/4 and 1/2. Especially the 1/2 because I'll probably beat the hell out of it.

The only ones I use now. I'm not a PRO but I buy salvage vehicles to rebuild I also work on my experimental airplane. After I got the first one, I thought, yup I'm getting the entire set. They are actually that good.

use the new 120xp daily in the workshop and expect it to be a lot stronger than the older models, It has been my go to ratchet because the fine tooth/locking/leverage, it just feel so good to use.
However after 3 months of use my 3/8 one doesn't lock in place anymore(the teeth on the head chipped off), and the 1/2 one had 1 paw dug into the position switch so it just jammed the whole lot.

Gotta say I am fairly disappointed for the new 120xp, the old 90t I had has held up pretty well tho

I was looking at the 24 inch 1/2 inch because I need a braker bar ratchet and Amazon had it for like $70 but it went back up so I might go something cheaper

Got the 24" 1/2 ratchet. The head has a bit more slop then I'd like. But very nice otherwise.
Would like to see them fix the head slop and importantly. They don't have any repair/rebuild kits available. Hope they make parts available for tool longevity

I have all 3 in comfort grip and love them. The locking mechanism feels way more solid than any plate style I've ever used. And I love the feeling of the button to lock/unlock it. My only grip is these do not rotate all the way back to 90 degrees. Instead, it feels like it's a degree or two off. It's not a huge deal, but it's just a little annoying when you notice it.

I bought the 4 piece 120xp flex head set and the 1/2” ratchet is 19” long which I didn’t want but I guess it could be good if I need a breaker bar and ratcheting action for an exhaust bolt. It came with 2 3/8 and a 1/4 stubby so that’s why I bought the kit for $100 on Amazon.

I have the 3 pack. 1/4" has held up so far. 3/8" broke and the gear selector fell out. Got it warrantied. Broke again, same problem.1/2" holding up so far.

I notice in other videos and pics on Amazon that the comfort grip ratchets dont have the gearwrench logo stamped in them.

Looking at picking up a set. I already have polished handle ratchets, are the comfort grips that bad at holding up? I figured when using cheater bars I would use my older ratchets and have the comfort grip for more leisurely work.

You should review the Milwaukee Flex Head Ratchets and compare them side by side🔧🔧
