Really appreciate the quick overview! I wasn’t sure if I would regret not going for the higher-end model, but it looks like a lot of the smart home features are ones I wouldn’t really enjoy or want to use.

You failed the mention the cheaper model does NOT have to be controlled manually as it is (and always has been) able to be used in the Google Home app

Is it possible to set a routine that it comes on automatically at 8:00pm and automatically turns off at 6:00am every day with either of these devices?

I have a Nest Pro thermostat. I absolutely loathe it! The worst part is it assumes nobody is home if you don't walk in front of it. Even after setting it to manual, you still have to walk by it to activate. It does what IT wants.

Both are difficult for Senior people to use. And we use Thermostat FAN ONLY system to clear the air in our condo. We live in San Diego. None of these seems to be simple enough for Seniors to use.
