The Kerala Assembly overwhelmingly passed a resolution on Monday denouncing Lakshadweep administrator Praful Khoda Patel's choices and describing them as attempts by the Sangh Parivar to impose its agenda on the people. The resolution demanded that the administrator be recalled from the Centre. The motion was moved in the house by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who was backed by the United Democratic Front, which is run by the Congress. Vijayan claimed that the Sangh Parivar was putting the saffron agenda to the test in Lakshadweep by undermining the people's culture and lives while spreading a red carpet for corporates. He recalled that attempts to impose agendas with entrenched interests on people had met with fierce opposition in numerous places of the world.
