✅ The Breakdown

Divide the Central Nervous System into two: Brain & Spinal Cord

Now divide the Brain into three:

These three are also called:
1. Forebrain: Prosencephalon

2. Midbrain: Metencephalon
*remenber M&Ms are mid
3. Hindbrain: Rhombocephalon
*beHIND the brain & Rear/Rhombo

Now let’s divide the Forebrain (Proscencephalon) into two:

1. Outer Cerebral Hemisphere: Telencephalon
*TELEscopes that look in to Princess Diana 👑
2. Deeper Cerebral Hemisphere: Diencephalon
*Princess DIana or DIencephalon the center of attention

✅ About the divisions

*Prosencephalon (Forebrain): the Cerebrum
Telencephalon consists of the cerebral hemispheres
Diencephalon consists of the thalamus, hypothalamus, and epithalamus

*Mesencephalon consists of the (Midbrain)

* Rhombocephalon (Hindbrain): Let’s get specific here and break hindbrain down into two:
1. Metencephalon consists of the Pons & Cerebellum
2. Myelencephalon consists of the Medulla Oblongata
