I think they both handled it well tbf. Some people saying he shouldn't haggle when he's able to travel to Egypt but tourists often do get charged higher anyway. They both kept cool and respectful that's what matters

I used to negotiate like this in Bolivia until I realized the bit I was saving was worth several meals to them.

Update: I’m speaking generally. Obviously some need it less, and there are scammers, counterfeiters and the like. But for that old granny selling scarves for $6, do you really need to negotiate down to $5, when they can get 2-3 meals for $1? Just be mindful of others 💜
